Welcome to the Evolution of Elegance!
In our exhibit, you will journey through the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries and evaluate what it meant to be elegant in each era. Men and women can view artifacts from history in a tranquil setting to gain a better understanding of the idea of elegance and how it has transformed through history. Guided tours are available upon request. Curators will be available for questions during opening day from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
Meet the Curators!
Maria Zarina Domingo Maria Zarina Domingo is an aspiring visual merchandiser and stylist. However, she's always been an artist and designer at heart originally hailing from the Philippines. She began her studies in Fine Arts with a focus in Advertising Arts before moving to the United States with her parents. Currently attending Kansas State University, she is majoring in Apparel and Textiles with a specialization in apparel design and production.

Mallory Howard Mallory Howard, lead web developer, is currently a student at Kansas State University and is seeking her Bachelor's degree in both Apparel and Textile Design and Apparel and Textile Marketing. She hopes to either design for movies and television, start her own clothing line that is more inclusive of different women's bodies, or work with companies to become more responsible in their sourcing and production processes.
She has a deep love of science fiction and fantasy and her favorite aesthetic period in fashion history is the 1940s. Mallory draws most of her inspiration from topics like space, Star Trek, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and big band music. |
Doyun Lydia Lee Doyun Lydia Lee is from South Korea and currently attending Kansas State University. She is a Junior majoring in Apparel and Textile Design. Last year her entry from Alpaca competition placed 33 out of 76. Her major design focuses are color and comfort and she finds inspiration from pretty much everything around her.

Maria Perez Maria Perez is currently a student at Kansas State University working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Apparel and Textiles with a specialization in Apparel Marketing. One of her many goals are to become a visual merchandiser or a stylist as she would love to work with important artists.
Originally from Mexico, she loves traveling and meeting new people from around the world. Because of her love for traveling she is working to learn three more languages: French, Portuguese, and Italian. |
Yang Yue Yang Yue is working towards a Bachelor’s degree Apparel and Textile Design at Kansas State University. She transferred from Hefei Normal University in China. Yang is a very optimistic person and interested in fashion and singing. She is in her sophomore year and will be an organizer for next year’s Showcase of Excellence for the Apparel, Textiles, and Interior Design department. After graduation, she is planning to pursue her Master’s degree in Apperl Marketing.
